At Marcone, we believe giving
back to our world makes it a safer, healthier and happier place for everyone.
Through our eager efforts and our tremendous customer support, we enjoy and take
pride in contributing to organizations working together to better our community.
The Ronald McDonald House
For the past ten years, Marcone has been an avid supporter of Ronald McDonald
House Charities—dedicating time, effort, and money to promote its cause
throughout our 60 branches nationwide, including Canada.
The Ronald McDonald House knows the best place for a child’s treatment
isn’t always in their backyard, but unfortunately hundreds or thousands
of miles away. Families will travel far from home to receive treatment for their
seriously ill or injured child. That treatment may last an indefinite amount
of time and with the stress of the situation and without the ease of home close
by—it can just be too much.
The Ronald McDonald Houses around the world provide a haven for these families,
offering the support of a “home-away-from-home” in proximity to
their child’s hospital. It’s a facility structured to allow families
in difficult medical situations full access to the necessities of life, providing
meals and a place to stay at little or no cost—allotting more time and
energy for parents to communicate with their child’s doctors and focus
on what’s most important—their child’s health.
Cooks for Kids
“Our night at the RMH was a huge success. We served dinner to 70 guests,
as the RMH was at full to capacity upon our visit. I can’t begin to tell
you how rewarding all the ‘thank yous’ we got were, and how it felt
to be a part of such a great cause as the RMH charities. My team and I will
never forget our experience and we look forward to doing it again.”
-Donnie R. Brooks, Nashville Branch Manager
Currently entering our 5th year, Marcone employees, now including Canada help
out at the Ronald McDonald House with Cooks for Kids—a volunteer program
where each of our Marcone locations’ hosts at least one meal per year
at their local RMH. Our employees include their friends, family, and customers
to prepare and cook their “famous” or “specialty” dishes
for the house guests. After the meal is served, our employees with their accompanying
chef companions visit with the families.
At Marcone, we encourage our employees and customers to support and participate
in various Ronald McDonald House fundraising events throughout the year.
Kids and Clays
For its 3rd consecutive year, we have been the title sponsor for the Annual
Kids and Clays Tournament, a shooting sports fundraiser. To date, the Kids and
Clays Tournament benefiting RMH has raised over $6,000,000 which has and will
continue to touch the lives of thousands of families nationwide.
Marcone’s Heart for Holidays
During the holiday season, we organize clothing, furniture, and gift drives
for our employees on behalf of the Ronald McDonald House. From giving away gently
used office furniture to our employees to offering a casual day everyday for
a month, we give incentives all in exchange for direct donations to the Ronald
McDonald House.
Our President, Jim Souers is on the Ronald McDonald House Board and nearly
a third of our employees and customers have either been a guest at a RMH or
know someone who has. At Marcone we are passionate about promoting and supporting
this family centered charity.

Our Little Haven
Marcone is a long-time contributor to Our Little Haven. Throughout the year,
our employees and customers participate in events sponsored to raise money and
awareness for the Our Little Haven cause.
Founded in 1993, Our Little Haven works with young children recovering from
abuse, neglect, and early childhood trauma in the St. Louis area. A non-profit
organization that aids nearly 400 children each year, Our Little Haven provides
professional services and treatment to mend the damages caused by abuse and
neglect—guiding these kids into better behavioral choices and ultimately
preparing them for a brighter emotional future.
In 2010, Marcone was the title sponsor for Our Little Haven’s annual 2-day
Golf Tournament. With the efforts of our customers, employees as well as the
other amazing participants involved, the event raised over $125,000.
Our President, Jim Souers, is on the Our Little Haven Board. Within our company
and within our business, we bring this local St. Louis charity our national
support.
For an example of the kind of work they do with the help of companies like Marcone, please read this article written in People Magazine.

Veterans & Civil Servants
At Marcone, we recognize and applaud the efforts of our Veterans and Civil Servants
who risk their lives to fight for our freedom and safety as a nation.
In the summer of 2010, we started Surge for the Veterans—a month-long,
fun-filled and playfully competitive experience. It began with each Marcone
location, their employees and customers nationwide and one common goal—together
raise $15,000 for the USO. In every Marcone branch a “Wall of Honor”
was mounted to showcase the red, blue, or gold stars representing each donation
made by our employees and customers. The walls filled up fast and in response
Marcone’s President, Jim Souers added a twist—announcing Marcone
would match the USO donation dollar-for-dollar if the $15,000 goal was reached.
The reaction was outstanding and on behalf of our customers and employees, Marcone
made a $30,000 donation to the Courage Fund at the USO.
In May 2010, our Marcone employees and customers ventured out in support of
the annual “Run for the Wall” occasion in Wentzville, MO. This national
event involves veterans traveling across America to reach Washington DC’s
Vietnam Memorial by Memorial Day—a race across states to bring awareness
in tribute to our military, war veterans, prisoners of war and those missing
or killed in action. Marcone’s Veteran friends and family were active
in the “Run for the Wall” making it a more personal affair our company.

We at Marcone are looking forward to spend our time and efforts in 2011 helping
the Fisher House Foundation and Backstoppers Inc – two foundations that
focus their efforts on our veterans and civil servants. Fisher House Foundation
has houses all over the US providing a home for families to stay while their
loved one is hospitalized nearby for an illness, disease or injury. Backstoppers
Inc is a local St. Louis organization that provides support to families of local
policemen, firefighters, and other civil servants who have lost their lives
on duty.
Another organization Marcone is proud to support is the United States Navy.
We look forward to give back to the people that risk their lives daily fighting
for our safety as a nation.
At Marcone, we are in continued support of our Veterans and Civil Servants.
